Born and raised in Alabama, Carroll Beauvais is a graduate of CUNY Hunter College and earned her MFA from Syracuse University. In addition to her debut poetry collection Preverbal (Lit Fox Books), she is coauthor of the chapter "Partnering with Students with Disabilities: Informed Practices and Support Networks" forthcoming in Radical Inclusivity: Critical Language Awareness in the Language and Writing Classroom (Multilingual Matters, November 2025). Other writing has appeared in Prairie Schooner, Mid-American Review, Delta Poetry Review, and elsewhere. She has been a finalist for the Brittingham and Felix Pollack Poetry Prizes and long-listed for the Beatrice Hawley Prize, the Joanna Cargill First Book Award, the Airlie Poetry Prize, and the “Discovery”/ Boston Review Poetry Contest. Her work has been supported by Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, and she teaches writing in Boston University's Kilachand Honors College.​
